Academic research thrives on exchange, especially among young researchers at the start of their careers. Therefore, professors from all economics faculties and institutes at universities in Lower Saxony, Bremen, and Saxony-Anhalt as well as the Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH) have joined forces to organize the 8th Bundesbank Workshop for Young Scientists on Applied Economics. The workshop is financially supported by the Regional Office of the Deutsche Bundesbank in Bremen, Lower Saxony, and Saxony-Anhalt and will take place on May 21 and 22, 2026, at the Deutsche Bundesbank headquarters in Hannover.
The workshop offers participants the opportunity to discuss current research findings in depth and to network. In addition to discussions of current research and a poster session, the workshop includes two keynote speeches: Reint Gropp (Halle Institute for Economic Research, IWH) and Prof. Dr. Fritzi Köhler-Geib (Bundesbank Executive Board member, responsible, among other things, for the research center and data and statistics departments).
Discussion papers or extended abstracts can be submitted via email to conference@wipol.uni-hannover.de by March 15th, 2026.
